An indie project · est. 2025

Built by two people who actually use it.

LandAI is a small, independent project. No VC, no growth team, no roadmap committee — just a GIS enthusiast and a side-project engineer building the parcel app they always wished existed.

Origin

It started with a walk in the woods.

One of us was hiking a property line, holding a phone in one hand and a paper plat map in the other, trying to figure out whose tree he was about to lean on. The other was looking for a weekend cabin lot and getting nowhere with bloated MLS sites and stale county portals.

We kept hitting the same wall: the data exists. Counties publish parcel records. State GIS offices publish boundaries. The problem wasn't access — it was that nothing felt like it was made for someone on the ground, walking, scouting, deciding.

So we started building. Nights, weekends, one county at a time.

The team

Two people. That's it.

GIS · data · maps

Spends his day job staring at parcel layers and tax rolls. Wrangles the county feeds, the projections, and all the ways county assessors find to make GIS harder than it needs to be.

Engineering · app · web

Builds the app on the side after the day job. iOS, Android, the web app, the boring parts in between. Cares more than is reasonable about how a button feels when you're wearing gloves.

How we work

Indie pace. Honest pricing.

No investors means no pressure to chase the wrong thing. We add a state when the data is right — not when a quarterly target says we should. We charge $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr because that's what it costs to run, plus a little. If we ever raise money, we'll tell you why.

Every email goes to one of us. Every bug report gets read. Every feature request gets a real answer (sometimes that answer is "no" — but it's a real one).

If you've found a county that's wrong, a parcel that's missing, or a feature you wish we'd build — write us. We mean it.

"We're not trying to disrupt anything. We're trying to make a really good map app for people who walk on the dirt."

Want to say hi?

We read every email. Bug reports, county requests, "I love this app" — all of it.
